IKEA Components shall be a Competence centre for glass and mirror products by supporting IKEA in the range development and offering a global sourcing of selected glass and mirror components to IKEA suppliers.
The Material Area Glass sources 95% of all glass and mirror components in China. The IKEA suppliers (our customers) are mainly located in Europe. IKEA Components is one of the major actors in supplying glass and mirror components to the European market. We supply 40% of IKEA total need of glass and mirrors. Our network of glass manufacturers are IWAY approved. We have made and continue an extensive work to improve production and secure quality through our team based in China at our selected suppliers.
In 2009 we implemented lead and copper free mirror production for the IKEA range. This gives IKEA an important market advantage.
